Confirm removal—or pause instead
If you arrived here after removing Normalize Volume, Chrome has handled the extension removal. This page cannot inspect your browser to confirm it. To check, open chrome://extensions and look for Normalize Volume.
If it is still installed, choose Remove and confirm in Chrome. If you only want the original sound temporarily, turn off Audio spike guard instead; you do not need to uninstall.
What removal means
Tab audio
The extension can no longer process tab audio once removed. Reload a media tab if playback has not returned to normal. Website and device volume controls remain separate.
Preferences and unlock
Do not rely on uninstalling to preserve settings or the unlocked range. Chrome manages extension storage and sync. After reinstalling, check your settings and use Enter code if needed.
Email preferences
Removing the extension does not remove you from the email list. Use an email’s unsubscribe link. The 1.08 range unlock is free and does not itself start a paid subscription.
If the audio does not sound right
No sound at all
Check the website player, Chrome’s tab mute setting, and your selected output device first. Pause Audio spike guard to compare. If needed, reload the media page and activate it again.
No noticeable difference
Open the popup from the tab actually playing sound. Compare the same short passage with processing on and off, without changing system volume. Audio that is already even may change very little.
A page cannot be captured
Try an ordinary video or podcast page. Chrome internal pages and restricted media may not be available for tab capture. Normalization cannot repair clipped recordings, remove background noise, or restore missing audio.
