  1. Pin your extension

    Open Chrome’s puzzle-piece menu, find Normalize Volume, and select the pin. Play a video, song, or podcast.

  2. Choose Always on

    Open the extension. Keep Normalize volume On, turn on Always on, and allow website access when Chrome asks.

  3. Find your target

    Start at 60%. Move Target level while you listen. Choose the setting that feels comfortable to you.

Always on is optional. Its preference stays saved across browser restarts and reloads.

If something needs a nudge.

Spotify or another player needs help

Play audio, then open Normalize Volume on that tab. With Always on enabled, it can try Tab mode. If needed, select Normalize this tab to try again. Chrome needs you to open the extension to start this mode.

The sound barely changes

Compare the same quiet passage with Normalize volume Off and On. Keep the website player and device volume steady. Already balanced audio may change very little.

There is no sound

Check the player, Chrome’s tab mute setting, and your output device. Switch Normalize volume Off to compare, then reload the media page if needed.

Target level shapes normalization; it is not your device volume or a guaranteed peak ceiling. Some restricted pages or players need Tab mode or cannot be processed.
